Happy Valentine’s Day is a short video describing an awkward encounter between two strangers, creating a situation that turns the words, “Happy Valentine’s Day”, into a complicated feeling. I used most of the time describing the two characters before they met each other, both of them having a not so perfect Valentine’s Day. However, at the end, they experienced a very special Valentine’s moment. The plot was mainly inspired by the climax in most romantic movies, using emotional music after certain significant lines were spoken. I want to play with this in an unexpected way. By emphasizing ordinary good deeds that happens on a special day, I try to create a conflict feeling in audience, and confuse them about the importance of the scene. Finally, I would leave the audience to decide the characteristic of the whole video, whether it is a comedy, a romance or a tragedy.
